"And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death."
(Revelation 12:11)
Hell trembles every time a follower of Jesus verbally shares his or her testimony. Our personal salvation testimonies cannot be refuted. It happened to us, we were there, and we cannot be told otherwise. When was the last time you shared your testimony with someone who needs Jesus? Would you believe that God has people ready to hear your story if you would only be willing to share?
I was at work a couple of weeks back when a plumber came to repair some plumbing issues in my bathroom. I heard him working and decided that I would go and share Jesus with him. I tried to find him but kept missing him. His tools were still in the office, so I knew he was not finished with the job. Later, I got a knock on the door, and it was the plumber. He asked if I had a few minutes to talk. I told him I absolutely did; in fact, I had tried twice to find him so I could talk to him.
He told me all was fine now with the plumbing. But that was not what he wanted to tell me. He began by saying that Jesus Christ is his personal Lord and Savior. He felt like he needed to share his testimony with someone--and wow, what a story he told me. Eight years ago, after leaving a bar in Georgetown, TX, he was so drunk he could hardly walk. He was going 100 mph when he flipped his Ford Bronco seven times. He was thrown out the windshield, as he was not wearing his seatbelt. Someone called the police, and when they arrived at the scene of the crash, they just knew he was dead. But they rushed him to the hospital. Part of his brain was sticking out of his skull, he was partially disemboweled, and he had broken bones everywhere. He stayed in a medically induced coma for nine months, and here he was in my office telling me what he saw and heard in those nine months and that he is a follower of Jesus Christ!
He said while he was in this coma, he could hear conversations that people were having around him. One of the doctors jokingly asked him when he came out of the coma, "Did you see God?" He then told the doctor about a private conversation the doctor had with another person, and the doctor was deeply moved... and frightened!
Our God is awesome. He works in wonderful and mysterious ways. You may not have a story quite like this master plumber who told me his story, but rest assured, if Jesus Christ has saved you, then He has called you to give Him praise by telling others about this great salvation.
Who will you tell today?
