"I would like to share a story with you. I read your daily devotion from Wednesday about the man named Louie and how God told him to go speak to the man in the mall. Well, I've had a similar encounter recently.
"On our way home one Sunday about a month ago, I stopped and bought some peaches from a young man who was selling them alongside the highway. I often give people gospel tracts and our church business card, but I didn't this day. The following week, God kept speaking to me to go back to him and take him a gospel tract and our church card and invite him to visit our church online. All week I kept making excuses every time God put it on my heart. But, I finally did it the following Sunday, and it was such a blessing!
"I introduced myself to him and he told me his name, then I said, "You may think this is a little odd, but God's been speaking to me all week to come back and give this to you." I gave him the tract and our church business card. We began to talk, and I listened to his story and the many problems he has right now in life. As I was telling him about God's love for him, he told me that I was the "third" person - like Louie in your devotion - that day who had talked to him about God. There had been a man who had come by earlier, and then later three ladies came by, so I was the third time. I said, "It seems that God is drawing you to himself." I told him I would be praying for him, and he thanked me and told me it meant so much to him. I had never talked and listened to anyone I had just met for that long before. I stopped back by his peach stand again last Sunday just to follow up with him.
"Wow! - after obeying the Holy Spirit, it was like I felt this freedom and joy because I had obeyed and done what God wanted me to do. I'm a very shy and introverted person, so these kinds of things are very hard for me. But I prayed before the first time I stopped to talk with him, and it was amazing the boldness and words the Holy Spirit gave me.
"I just had to share this story with you after reading your devotion. Thank you again for writing them."
