"Instead, just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the Gospel, so we speak, not to please people, but rather God, who examines our hearts."
(1 Thessalonians 2:4, CSB)
Kyndall and I decided not to find out the gender of our second kiddo when we got pregnant. It was a long pregnancy full of questions from others like, "Do you know if it's a boy or girl yet?" etc. Kyndall and I picked out two different names: one for a boy and one for a girl, and we were content to wait until delivery to find out what the gender of the baby was. One of the reasons we wanted to do this was to be able to tell our family what the gender of the baby was and see their reactions!
When Miller was born in November of last year, the gender reveal was amazing. I remember Kyndall holding our second son and being so grateful that Tabor was going to have a little brother. I remember thinking that they were going to be one year apart in school, just like how Leighton (my younger brother) and I were! I remember being so thrilled to tell others about the gender and name of Baby Forshee! While we were still at the hospital, we invited the grandparents into the room! When they got into the room, Kyndall introduced them to Tabor's brother, Miller Daniel Forshee! It was so sweet to see their reactions, and it was even recorded, so we can look back on the moment fondly for years to come.
Why do I share that story with you? It's relevant because when Kyndall and I decided to wait to learn the gender of Forshee Baby #2 and then found out he's a boy and knew his name would be Miller, we were entrusted with that good news to tell others! We shared this good news with those closest to us first and then shared it with the world! You see, as followers of Jesus, God has approved us through a relationship with Jesus Christ, and that is fantastic news! The news only gets better as a follower of Jesus, because not only is the approval from God for you, but it is for everyone around you and everywhere else!
As people who are approved by God, we have been entrusted with the message of approval. God has entrusted us to tell everyone, those closest to us and the whole world, that approval from God is possible through a relationship with Jesus! Follower of Jesus, you are entrusted with the Gospel to take it to your home, work, school, places of play, places of eating, anywhere and everywhere you go, you are entrusted to share the Gospel with those around you. Your approval from God was never meant to end with you! You were approved by God to tell others about how they can be approved too!
Let your personal approval from God be what encourages you to share with someone today the Gospel! We as followers of Jesus are approved but also entrusted with the Gospel!
