Who? What? Where? When?

Who? What? Where? When?

What if all of us Christians were very intentional in our witness for Christ? There would be many more Gospel conversations & people receiving Jesus.

Who? What? Where? When?

"Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning at this Scripture, preached Jesus to him."

(Acts 8:35)

I love the story in Acts 8 when the Spirit of God led Philip to a desert road to Gaza to evangelize an African official, the Ethiopian eunuch. Philip left a great revival to obey God's command and witness to this one man. As verse 35 states, Philip shared Jesus with the man. Praise the Lord, he accepted Jesus as his Savior and Lord, and Philip baptized him immediately.

Yesterday, we were talking about being super intentional in our witness for the Lord. Philip was just that. He was sensitive to the Spirit's leading, and when the opportunity came, he went forward in obedience. You and I can do the same thing. You may say that you are no evangelist like Philip. I agree, and neither am I. But God desires to use us all to be His witnesses.

Pastor Levi elaborated upon intentionality when he said we should answer the following questions:
  1. Who? Who am I going to witness to today?

  2. What? What am I going to do? God will provide the opportunities, but will we take advantage of those opportunities? Will we go to the people and put ourselves in places and positions to meet and engage with lost people like Philip? Or like Paul in the agora or marketplace in Acts 17 in Athens?

  3. Where? We share with people wherever we find ourselves. It may be in our home, at the gym, at work, at the local store, etc.

  4. When? Hopefully today! If not today, then get ready, because the opportunities will soon arise for you and me to share Jesus.
Last week, I received a text message from one of our church members. James first texted me to ask me to pray for a friend of his that was in the hospital. James was going to visit his friend who was not a follower of Jesus. I prayed for James and was excited for him to go where the Lord was clearly leading him. I got the following text: "He just prayed to receive Christ."

What if all of us as Christians were super intentional in our witness for Christ? There would be many more Gospel conversations and people receiving Jesus and going to heaven. It is so easy to get distracted with the cares and concerns and even responsibilities we have in this world. But if the devil gets us so busy that we do not have the time or energy to share Jesus with others, then that is way too busy!

Ask the Lord even now to help you slow down, be sensitive to His Spirit, and then go in obedience to Christ's command to be His witness.
