Our team of four pastors spent the day in the capital city of Skopje, Macedonia. There are only two million people in the entire country of Macedonia. Less than one percent of the Macedonians attend an evangelical church. It is a huge mission field, for sure, and that is why we are here! The pastors gathered, and we had a teaching conference for them and their wives. It was an honor for me to preach Mark 2:1-12, the story of Jesus healing the paralytic who was helped by his four friends. Both Pastors Kevin and Tom, also from TX, shared messages as well. Randy then told them that God has called him to do fewer revival meetings in the USA and focus more on the open doors that God is giving him in Europe.
Randy felt the Lord leading him to answer the following questions as he prayed about this possible transition in his ministry. I encourage you that if you are considering a move, think about these same questions:
- What brings you the most joy in ministry?
- Where are you most effective in serving the Lord?
- How can you best shepherd the heart of your spouse if you were to make this move?
Randy will return to Macedonia in August and spend two months traveling the country and sharing the Gospel with his chalk drawings. We encouraged the pastors to prepare for Randy to come by praying and preaching messages from my book entitled For the One. This book details many of the evangelistic encounters Jesus had as recorded by the Gospel writers. The goal is for them to preach messages from my book and lead their people to pray for their "ones" then challenge their people to share Jesus with them.
After the conference, Pastor Stola gave us a tour of the church. We then checked into a Holiday Inn, and I went to the gym and worked out before we walked around downtown Skopje. The next day, we traveled about an hour north to Kumanovo, where I saw my friend Saso and preached where he serves as pastor. More on that in tomorrow's devotion.
