Blessed Holidays, Pt. 2

Building our lives and families on the solid Rock of Jesus Christ is the guaranteed way to have peace and joy during the chaotic Holiday Season and any other season of life.

During our family Christmas celebration, before we pass out the presents, my wife Ashley and I dress up like some famous people and play a game with the kids and grandkids.

Some of the characters we have portrayed are Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Thor and Wonder Woman, and Pat Sajak and Vanna White (from Wheel of Fortune). Last year, I dressed up as the Grinch and Ashley was Cindy Lou Who. I had to remove my Grinch mask pretty quickly because it scared the grandkids!

Here are a couple of photos of us dressed up as the characters:
All the laughter, joy, happiness, and peace are because of Jesus. We have chosen to trust Him as a family, and build upon His life and teachings. He continues to bless us immeasurably!

In Matthew 7:25, Jesus teaches us in His famous Sermon on the Mount that every house or person's life will encounter some very difficult and challenging times. It is simply part of living in our fallen world. But those who hear and obey Jesus weather the storms, and not only do they survive, but they also thrive!

This week, all our family will be in town and at our home. Ashley and I will dress up as a couple of famous people, and then we will play games. (It's a secret who we will be this year. Our kids and grandkids are excited to find out!)

I thank Jesus for the fun traditions He gives His people during the holidays. The Lord is so kind to His children. All He asks of us is to listen to Him and obey what He tells us. And when we do, wow, He unloads so many blessings! Praise the Lord!

And speaking of blessings, I just wanted to say how grateful I am for all of you who pray for DFEA and support us financially. None of the things we do–from these daily devotionals, to the weekly podcast, to my traveling to encourage and train other pastors and missionaries and share the Gospel with unbelievers, to our creation of other discipleship resources and many other ministry activities–none of this could be possible without the generous support of fellow Christians like YOU.
If you have not donated to DFEA this year, would you consider doing so now?

Until midnight tonight, as a special thank you for your gift of $25 or more, we are offering you an excellent year-long daily devotional book entitled, God's Mercy, Grace, and Compassion, to which I was honored to contribute. I think it will bless you over the course of this new year.
Thank you for helping us start 2025 strong for Christ!
