"Lord, there is no one like you!
For you are great, and your name is full of power."
(Jeremiah 10:6, NLT)
As we go through this week, a theme for these devos is beginning to surface: reflection. On Monday, we reflected on our identity and God's presence with us throughout our lives and how these two components impact and influence our obedience to what God calls us to do. On Tuesday, we reflected on the awesomeness and holiness of God. Today is a little similar to yesterday, but today, let's reflect on how Great our God is!
If you have not had a chance to read the verse for today, read it reflectively. Don't rush past it, but read it for reflection. I love how Jeremiah writes that God is GREAT! Here is a list that tells of the greatness of God:
HOW GREAT IS OUR GOD
- Alpha and Omega (Rev. 1:8)
- Him who loves us and and has freed us from our sins (Rev. 1:5)
- A Faithful God (Deut. 32:4)
- Him who is able to keep you from falling (Jude 24)
- Source of eternal salvation (Heb. 5:9)
- Prince of Peace (Isa. 9:6)
- The Good Shepherd (John 10:11)
- The God who sees you (Gen. 16:13)
- The LORD who Heals you (Ex. 15:26)
- Our Redeemer (Isa. 47:4)
- King of Glory (Ps. 24:7-10)
We live for, serve, and give our lives for a GREAT God! He is so great and holy that even our communication with Him is an example of His greatness. He hasn't isolated Himself from His created beings; He chooses and desires to live within our hearts and be in a daily relationship with us. He has every right to be above us, yet He chooses to dwell with us. We serve a GREAT God!
Today, reflect on one of the bullet points from above. Reflect on how God is a GREAT God!
