"For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, instructing us to deny godlessness and worldly lusts and to live in a sensible, righteous, and godly way in the present age, while we wait for the blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ."
(Titus 2:11-13, CSB)
I cannot believe that it's already May! I feel like 2023 just started yesterday, and now we are already in May! When the month of May rolls around each year, there are two dates that I cannot forget: May 25 and May 31. These two dates happen to be the most impactful days of my life! May 25 is the day that I began my relationship with Jesus. May 31 is my and Kyndall's anniversary! We are going to celebrate 4 years of marriage at the end of this month.
With my spiritual birthday coming up on the 25th, I have had more times of reflection about salvation recently. Couple that with what God has been doing in the church we are at now, Cross Church - Springdale, and it has been a sweet reminder of a great truth: The Gospel still saves!
What has God been doing at Cross Church? Well, we have seen 13 salvations in 8 days. Yes, you read that correctly. We have seen 13 people go from death to life in just the student ministry alone! This is an amazing move of God, and I am so thankful to have a front row seat to it! Some may ask, "What's the 'secret sauce' to all of these salvations at Cross Church?" The answer is God alone. I don't pretend to think it's because of catchy student ministry things that we have seen 13 people come to know Jesus. No, it is ALL God allowing us to see these salvations. We have simply been faithful to share the Gospel with these people.
The Gospel still saves! If the Gospel still saves, and "the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people," who can you share the Gospel with TODAY? God is still saving people, and the beautiful reality is that He uses people who share the Good News of Jesus! I want to challenge and encourage you RIGHT NOW to pray for an opportunity to share the Gospel. Pray that God would show you the opportunity and that you would take the opportunity to talk about how the Grace of God has appeared! Pray that the individual would accept the free gift of salvation and that you would be able to see their salvation today.
Even though we cannot guarantee that someone will begin a relationship with Jesus when we share the Gospel, we still MUST be people who tell the world the Good News of Jesus, because the Gospel still saves!
