Worshiping with Heaven, Pt. 3

Worshiping with Heaven, Pt. 3

The Kingdom of God is for all people: all tribes, all nations, all languages. Would you pray today for the unreached & unengaged peoples of the world?

Worshiping with Heaven, Pt. 3

This week's devotions are written by my friend Jessica Hermann, former director of our college ministry at Great Hills Baptist Church.
- Pastor Danny
May I encourage you to turn your hearts today to God? Will you resolve to worship Him through your mind and actions today?

As we continue reading in our passage of Revelation 4-5, we read about the Lamb of God. John describes how the Lamb appeared between the throne and the worshipers to open the scroll. The four living creatures and the 24 elders worship the Lamb, saying:

"Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open its seals, for you were slain, and by your blood you ransomed people for God from every tribe and language and people and nation, and you have made them a kingdom and priests to our God, and they shall reign on the earth." (Revelation 5:9b-10)

This passage brings me to tears. Can you picture this scene being described? See the kingdom of the redeemed: full of beautifully diverse people from all corners of the Earth worshiping as a result of one thing they all have in common: that they were once dead in sin but were made alive through the blood of the Lamb. They come from different nations, peoples, and tribes. They speak different languages. But they are all united under their common need for salvation and by having all been saved through their faith in the Lord Jesus who ransomed them by His blood. And you, Christian, are included in this number. I am included in this number. Yes, these in heaven are praising God for your salvation. They are praising God for the salvation of people from every corner of the Earth.

Tomorrow we will discuss His worthiness to open the scroll and His blood spilled. Today, may we marvel at the diversity of His Kingdom.

Did you know, however, that there are still billions of people who live in areas of the world where there is little to no access to the Gospel? According to the Joshua Project, about 41 percent of people in the world are a part of people groups who are considered "unreached" (less than 2 percent Evangelical Christian). Furthermore, there are still 5.7 million people who are part of ethnic groups that are considered unreached and unengaged, which means that there is no known effort going on to get the Gospel to these people.

The Kingdom of God is for all people: all tribes, all nations, all languages. Would you pray today for the unreached and unengaged peoples of the world?

You, God, are worthy of all the earth. Thank you for going to the cross to ransom me and people from all over the Earth. Lord, would you help me to be your messenger of this good news to all people at all times? God, would you equip your Church all over the world to testify to your blood spilled for sinners? And Father, would you please send workers into the harvest among the unreached and unengaged people of the world? Would you extend your mercy and mobilize your Church to reach them? You are the God of all creation, and we worship you. Amen.
