"For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures."
(1 Corinthians 15:3-4, ESV)
This week we have read some famous verses from the Bible. We have discussed how:
- God loves us, according to John 3:16.
- God saved us, according to Ephesians 2:8-10.
- God showed His love for us, according to 1 John 4:9-10.
- Christ died for us while we were still sinners, according to Romans 5:7-8.
For our last devotion this week, I want to discuss: "I delivered to you."
With our contemplation of the Gospel all week, I hope these verses and your thoughts about them have made you overflow with gratitude. I hope this has filled you with the desire to share the truth of the Good News of Jesus with someone you know who does not have a personal relationship with Him. I hope you are able to say to many others what Paul said to the Corinthians:
"For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures."
I hope you have had the opportunity to share the Good News of the Gospel with someone, and I hope you will continue to have many opportunities to share with others.
This great news that gives us hope, that fuels growth in our relationship with Jesus, who saved us from our sins, needs to be shared with others who are still dead in their sins.
Who can you share the Gospel with TODAY?
The Gospel was never meant to be something we merely study and keep to ourselves. No. While we forever and always study and contemplate the Gospel and fall more in love with the Word as a whole, we should also feel compelled to share it with those who do not know the joy of having a relationship with Jesus. Knowing and understanding the Gospel more and more should drive us to share the Gospel more and more.
I will leave you with this question again:
Who can you share the Good News with TODAY?
