Believing God, Pt. 5

Believing God, Pt. 5

When we "believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead,"
we are saved by God. He imputes His righteousness to us.

Believing God, Pt. 5

"And therefore 'it was accounted to him for righteousness.' Now it was not written for his sake alone that it was imputed to him, but also for us. It shall be imputed to us who believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead, who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification."

(Romans 4:22-25)

CeCe Winans' new song, "We Believe for It," is so powerful. I am listening to it now as I type the final day of devotions about believing God and trusting in Him despite the odds, difficulties, and oppositions. The lyrics are inspirational. The following simple yet profound line just grabbed my heart and blessed me: "There is power in Your name."
CeCe Winans - Believe For It (Official Lyric Video)
While referring to Abraham's imputed righteousness, the Apostle Paul tells us that it was not written for his sake alone, but for all of us who believe. When we "believe in Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead," we are saved by God. He imputes His righteousness to us. Think about that for a moment. As sinners we could never earn our way to heaven. We are sinful to the core. But Jesus is pure and holy, and He gives to us His righteousness when we believe in Him. Therefore, when God looks upon us, He sees His Son and not our sin! Come on now! Is this not wonderful news?

King Jesus "was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification." Our sin could only be atoned for with a perfect sacrifice. Jesus was delivered up to the cross to be slain for you and for me. What incredible love. Paul says in 2 Corinthians 5:21: "For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him." Jesus paid a debt we never could when He died on the cross for us. And when He arose from the dead, He declared His victory over sin and death. When we believe (the key word), then we are justified; yes, we are made pure, and we are saved! Heaven is our eternal home. It cost Jesus everything, yet we only have to believe. Astounding. I never will fully grasp it, but will rejoice for eternity over it.

Are you saved? Do you have a relationship with Jesus Christ who loves you? If yes, then praise Him now. If no, then what are you waiting on? Believe. BELIEVE!
