Believing God, Pt. 4

Believing God, Pt. 4

What are you believing God for today? Is it so large that
unless God intervenes, it will not come to pass?

Believing God, Pt. 4

"And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah's womb.  He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God."

(Romans 4:19-20)

What are you believing God for today? Is it so large that unless God intervenes, it will not come to pass? There are a few things I am trusting God to do in my life and ministry that will only come about if God makes it happen. My job is to keep walking by faith, and in the words of William Carey, "Attempt great things for God and expect great things from God."

R.H. Mounce writes,
"Faith goes beyond human potentiality. It acknowledges the existence of one who is not bound by the limitations of the created order. . . . Where God is present, there is nothing that lies outside the realm of possibility. The church of Jesus Christ is in desperate need of those who will insist that God is able to bring to pass anything that is consistent with his nature and in concert with his redemptive purposes. "Your God Is Too Small" is a sad epitaph inscribed on all too many ecclesiastical groups who, strange as it may seem, claim to worship the Almighty."
(Mounce, R. H. (1995). Romans (Vol. 27, p. 129–130). Nashville: Broadman & Holman Publishers)

I have seen the Lord do so many things in my life, family, and ministry. Past interventions of God give impetus to believe again for the present and future. God has blessed me immensely in leading me to marry my wife, Ashley, blessing us with our children and grandchildren, and also allowing me to do some wild things, like ride in the backseat of an F-15 fighter jet. There is very little chance I would be able to do something like that on my own. I was told that you need to be a senator or someone in Hollywood to get that ride. But God. He gave me this desire of my heart. My friend, Three Star General Bruce Wright, made it happen, and it was an experience that I will never forget. Throwing up ten times in twenty minutes is possible! (That really happened.) But what an incredible experience.

God can bring about things we know would be impossible without Him. He makes a way when there is no way. He cuts a path through granite; He parts raging seas; He speaks, and the dead come to life. Nothing is impossible if we only believe in Him.

The Bible says in Romans 4:20, speaking of Abraham: "He did not waver." The Greek word is diakrinō, which means to waver or doubt in your mind.

Are you wavering or believing? The former is natural; the latter is supernatural. Ask God to grant you the faith to truly believe what you say you believe.
