In 2004, Ashley and I started the 501 C-3 nonprofit Danny Forshee Evangelistic Association. God has been so good to us, allowing us to minister to many through DFEA. I have a board of directors who help us allocate the funds we receive through honorariums, book sales, and donations. Upwards of 90% of the funds we receive come from people like you who support our ministry through your prayers and financial gifts. The monies we receive provide the funding for all our ministries, from the production of this free daily devotional and weekly podcasts, to my teaching of pastors in South Asia, and many other ministries we support around the world.
Jesus said we would be blessed in the same measure that we are a blessing to others. Both in our personal finances and in the ministry of DFEA, Ashley and I love to give and bless others. We personally tithe and give our offerings to our local church that we dearly love, Great Hills Baptist Church in Austin, TX. But we also sow many seeds through DFEA to ministries and missions around the globe. I truly believe that God blesses us so that we will be a blessing to others.
My pastor friend, Tony Buchanan, helped me better understand our biblical text for today's devotion when he used the analogy of bagging leaves. He said when the bag appears full, it really isn't. If you press down on the bag, you are able to put more leaves in the bag. Likewise, as we give and bless others, God pours more into our lap. Why does He do that? I believe He blesses and trusts us with possessions so that we will help and bless others. So, thank you for sowing into DFEA. Pray for us to be wise stewards of the monies He gives us so that we reach as many people as possible.
