What a Sight!

What a Sight!

It is hard to put into words the beauty and vastness of the
Grand Canyon. It is one of God's masterpieces of creation.

What a Sight!

"O Lord, how manifold are Your works!
In wisdom You have made them all.
The earth is full of Your possessions."

(Psalm 104:24)
It is hard to put into words the beauty and vastness of the Grand Canyon. As I mentioned in yesterday's devotion, Ashley and I were able to spend a couple days at the Grand Canyon. We had a great time and enjoyed seeing one of God's masterpieces of creation, this massive and exquisite canyon in northern Arizona. Here are a couple of photos we took:
We stayed in our room for half a day because heavy snow was coming down. I don't think I have ever seen that much snow! It was beautiful, so of course, Ashley and I had to go outside and have a snowball fight!

The next morning, we walked down the Rim Trail and visited a nice gift shop with some really beautiful views of the Grand Canyon. Ashley and I were pleasantly surprised to see a sign as we entered the building.
The first part of the sign was Psalm 104:24 (KJV): "O Lord, how manifold are thy works! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches." The second part of the sign right below had these words: "Father Almighty, wonderful Lord, Wondrous Creator, be ever adored; Wonders of nature sing praises to You, wonder of wonders—I may praise too!"

When you look upon something so beautiful as the Grand Canyon, you have one of two conclusions to make: One, God created this masterpiece, and it reflects His glory and creative genius, or two, you have to conclude that by random chance, the magnificent Grand Canyon simply came into existence. Over eons of time, the ancient Colorado River cut through the massive granite, and shazam, you have the Grand Canyon! I know there are many people who adhere to the second conclusion. They do not believe in God but will exclaim, "Isn't evolution amazing!" I and all theists believe that God created the world and all the beauty within it. As Frank Turek states it so well, "I do not have enough faith to be an atheist."

The Bible says that creation declares the glory of God and displays His handiwork (Psalm 19:1). Paul writes in Romans 1:20, "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse." Will you stop and pause a minute and join in with creation and declare God's glory, exalting Him for His handiwork? "Wonders of nature sing praises to You, wonder of wonders—I may praise too!"
