No Fear this Christmas, Pt. 4

No Fear this Christmas, Pt. 4

What new thing does God want to do in your life this Christmas season?
Believe God for it and receive it when He sends it your way.

No Fear this Christmas, Pt. 4

"Then Mary said, 'Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be
to me according to your word.' And the angel departed from her."

(Luke 1:38)

Mary's response is the best possible one she could have given. Her response to the angel God sent should be our response to the message He sends to you and me today: "Let it be to me," in other words, "Go ahead, God; do what you want to do in me and through me. I receive it."

Humility and faith may appear very weak and useless to a watching world, but in the eyes of God, they are most attractive.

What new thing does God want to do in your life this Christmas season that will propel you into the new year? Believe God for it and receive it when He sends it your way. What if He heals you completely of your cancer and the oncologist says no more treatments? Or, what if he allows you to go through it and gives you such incredible peace that you are a bright witness and light for Him, and He uses you in ways you could never have imagined?

I was so moved when I read the email from Janna Warren, who lives in Dallas and is battling cancer. I asked for her permission to share this with you, and she said:
"Absolutely! You can share any part of my journey. The title of your sermon series makes me smile. I shared with several people at the hospital that since May, I've never had any fear... no fear that I couldn't endure this... no fear that I wouldn't survive... no fear that the Lord would ever leave my side. I'm just filled with so much thankfulness.

"After being in the hospital 36 days, I came home yesterday. Both of my Therapists in rehab called me a miracle. I have had the opportunity to talk about the Lord to many people at the hospital since May. One of my Nurses in rehab talked with me at length about the Lord and then asked if she could pray over me. What a blessing! I never want to miss an opportunity to share my faith... even if it is during one of the most difficult times in my life."
(This was the quote that brought me to tears and blessed me deeply.)
"I don't know why the Lord chose me to walk through a cancer diagnosis, but I told Him back in May that if my journey could show at least one person His faithfulness, love, and saving power, then I would count it as worthy to go through. It's been amazing to see the people He has placed in my path that simply needed encouragement, or assurance that they were not alone. God is just amazing to me!"
Isn't that powerful? I appreciate Janna's love for the Lord and her absolute dependence upon God. She reminds me of Mary when she told Gabriel, "Let it be to me."

Are you willing to trust God with your life and say to the Lord today that you are His servant, and come what may, you want God to use you in every circumstance of life? I am praying for you even now that you will let go of the reins of your life and entrust full control to Jesus. He loves you and has only the best for you. Trust Him today.
