No Fear this Christmas, Pt. 3

No Fear this Christmas, Pt. 3

God desires to do something never done before. Why is that? Because
there has never been another you, so God's miracles in your life will be new!

No Fear this Christmas, Pt. 3

"For with God nothing will be impossible."

(Luke 1:37)

Here is the context where Gabriel speaks to Mary about how with God, nothing is impossible:

"Then Mary said to the angel, 'How can this be, since I do not know a man?' And the angel answered and said to her, 'The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.'"

(Luke 1:34-37)

There is so much fear in our world: fear of the pandemic, fear for health concerns, fear for relationships, fear of the unknown, etc. But we will not fear, for God is near to triumph through us, as Martin Luther writes in his famous hymn, "A Mighty Fortress Is Our God". Fear or Faith, that is the issue at hand. Will you and I trust God to do the impossible, to do something new and unprecedented, or will we continue in unbelief and miss out on all that God desires to do in and through us?

Christine Caine writes in one of her recent devotions:
"See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland" (Isaiah 43:19, NIV).

When my family went on a Disney cruise some years ago, my youngest daughter, Sophia, declared it "the best vacation she'd ever had." In fact, we had hardly stepped off the ship when she looked up at me and asked, "When's the next cruise we are going on, Mummy?"

That question reveals something common to human nature — the tendency to look ahead and crave what's next. But here's what I've realized: God's plan for what's next isn't about repackaging what He's already done. No, He's doing a new thing. So, rather than looking for the next, I want to encourage you to look for the new!

Let God do a new thing in and through your life. Make no mistake, He has awesome plans for you!
I agree. God desires to do a new thing, something never done before. Why is that? Because there has never been another you, so for God to work a miracle in your life, it will be new. Do you believe for it? Will you ask God for it? Will you ask God to reveal Himself to you if you do not know Him? I pray that He is revealing Himself even now in this devotion that you are reading.

What new thing does God want to do for you and in you to bring Him glory and give you much peace and purpose? Others may say that is impossible, but remember our verse for today's devotion. Read Luke 1:37 again!

It is exciting to ask this question and then wait on God to give the answer. I am looking forward to what God reveals to you as you seek Him. Believe for it!
