Been So Good

"And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age."

"The Lord passed in front of Moses, calling out, 'Yahweh! The Lord! The God of compassion and mercy! I am slow to anger and filled with unfailing love and faithfulness.'"

(Matthew 28:20b, NLT, and Exodus 34:6, NLT)

If you have not heard the song "Been So Good" by Elevation Worship, you must! It is an excellent song about being thankful for all that God has done in your life. This song highlights God's presence and faithfulness.

The first verse above is Matthew 28:20. This is the tail end of the great commission and has a grand promise for us: God is Present! God promises to be with us, even to the end of the age. This is an encouraging promise to claim as a follower of Jesus because, based on this promise, we can know that Jesus will be with us in every season that life throws our way. This is not the only place in scripture that records God's promised presence with us! Here are other verses that proclaim that God's presence will be with you as a follower of Jesus:

The other truth that "Been So Good" highlights is that God is faithful. Not only does God promise to be with you, but He is faithful when He is with you. This can kind of get hard to believe when we go through hard times, but just because the times are hard does not mean that God changes His character; He never changes, and He is always good. We know that God will be faithful to deliver on His promises and His word every time because He does not go back on His word, nor does He lie. Exodus 34 tells us that God is FILLED with unfailing love and FAITHFULNESS. We can know and believe that God will be faithful because He is FILLED with faithfulness.
