Set Free in Prison

"Jesus answered them, 'Most assuredly, I say to you, whoever commits sin is a slave of sin. And a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever. Therefore if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.'"

(John 8:34-36)

The next pastor we met in Macedonia was Pastor Robert and his wife Crassie who serve in the city of Radovish. Their church building doubles as a coffee shop and fun place for people to hang out, but it is also where they live! This committed couple have the joy of the Lord, and it was such a blessing and inspiration to be around them and to hear their story. Pastor Robert preaches twice a week, serves in a prison, has a ministry to Muslims from Turkey, and on Sunday, he personally picks up six elderly ladies, all in their 70's, and brings them to church! I was so inspired just listening to him speak about his ministry in broken English. Crassie works with twenty girls during the week, teaching them crafts and telling them about Christ.

Robert shared his testimony and what his life was like before he came to know Christ. He was addicted to heroin for ten years and eventually spent two years in prison. While in prison, a man by the name of Jonah shared the Good News of Jesus Christ with him. Robert said he was very intrigued. He watched Jonah and how he lived his life and could tell that there was something very different about him. Robert said that Jonah was thankful for everything he received; he would even thank God for the terrible food in prison. Robert accepted Jesus as his Savior and Lord, and God took away his addiction. After prison, he received training in ministry with YWAM (Youth with a Mission). He is on fire for Christ!

What a joy to hear how Jesus Christ is changing lives all over the world. If you know someone who is far from God like Robert was before he met Christ, keep praying for him or her. No one is so far away that they cannot be saved.
