"Serve the LORD with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing."
(Psalm 100:2)
I dearly love our church and am grateful to God for the many ways He continues to bless us. I was in a meeting a few weeks back with our executive pastor and some other people, and he made a statement, and I was like, "Wow; he is right." He said that since the Covid low point, our church has doubled in size. I love the unity and peace in our church. A couple of weeks ago, our deacon chairman commented at the ordination service how blessed and unified we are as a church! I love how God has given us a vision for the future to plant multiple churches, and that is so very exciting. I am a grateful man; thank You Jesus for all Your multitude of blessings. To serve the Lord in community with other believers is such a great way to live life here on earth.
There is power in numbers. When a watching world sees the people of God gathering on Sundays, we want them to ask why are they doing that? Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, said there are a lot of other things he could do on a Sunday morning than go to church. He is right, but he is also mistaken. Of course, there are indeed many things he could do besides going to church, but there is nothing more important than going to church with the people of God on the Lord's Day, the day we celebrate Jesus' resurrection from the dead.
Ashley and I spoke to a lady and invited her to come to church and worship with us. She was nice but said she is not much into church in light of how some church people mistreated her parents. My heart broke for her. She is letting a small number of people keep her away from the blessings of the church, and no one could be happier than the devil. He likes us alone, not in community, attempting to figure everything out on our own. But God, who has always existed in community, invites us to be together. Yes, the Father, Son, and Spirit are three Persons in complete unity–that is to say, perfect tri-unity: the Trinity.
Tomorrow we will dive deeper into this amazing Psalm 100. For today, reflect on how important it is to serve God with a glad heart and contemplate coming before Him with others singing His praise. When we gather with the people of God, we remember that we are not alone; God is with us, and we give Him praise and thanks for the multitude of blessings He bestows upon us daily.
