What's Your Story? (Pt. 3)

What's Your Story? (Pt. 3)

You may be in a wintry season in your life, not related to the weather outside but to the turmoil in your soul or family. I want to encourage you today.

What's Your Story? (Pt. 3)

"But as it is written: 'Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.'"

(1 Corinthians 2:9)

As I write today's devotion a few days before it is published, I am without electricity, like many in central Texas. We have had some tough winter storms in the last few years. In February 2021, many Texans were without power for several days as snow fell in abundance and temperatures dropped to 0 degrees Fahrenheit. I was attending a conference in Orlando, FL at that time and had no idea the weather was going to be that way when I planned the trip. The temperature was in the 70s, and the sun was shining brightly. I did not post any happy pictures on social media!

You may be going through a wintry season in your life. It is not related to the weather outside but to the turmoil inside your soul or your family. I want to offer some words of encouragement to you today. This week we have been writing about how Saul of Tarsus became Paul the Apostle. Nothing demonstrates the awesome power of God quite like salvation. The same God who created the world out of nothing, sent Jesus to earth, and raised Him from the dead is the same God who sees you and will help you. I pray that God intervenes in your life in such a way that it will astound you and everyone around you. May your life be a conspicuous example of the love and power of Jesus. If you do not know the Lord, receive Him today. If you know Christ, keep walking by faith. God sees you. He is for you, and He will come through for you.

I will go back to Paul's testimony tomorrow but will close today with a recommendation for you. Take a few minutes, turn up the volume, and listen to this song by Elevation Worship entitled, Same God:
The same God who moved in power in the lives of Jacob, Moses, David, Mary, and Paul is the same God who can move in power in your life today. Here are some of my favorite lyrics in the song:

I'm calling on the God of David (yes, I am)
Who made a shepherd boy courageous
I may not face Goliath
But I've got my own giants

O God, my God, I need You
O God, my God, I need You now
How I need You now, yeah
O Rock, O Rock of ages
I'm standing on Your faithfulness
On Your faithfulness

I am praying for you that you would encounter God in a powerful way. I pray that He touches your life and intervenes in such a way that transforms your life and brings Him much glory.

Podcast of the Week

Let's Talk Story

Everyone loves a good story! God has embedded within the human mind and heart enjoyment of great stories. Jesus knew the power of stories, sharing parables throughout his ministry. In this episode, Pastor Danny discusses Paul's account of his testimony before a very hostile crowd, what we can learn from it, and how we can be bolder and better about sharing our own testimony with others.
