"Then the angel said to them, 'Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy which will be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.'"
(Luke 2:10-11)
Yesterday, I referenced Maverick City's new song, " Fear Is Not My Future". If you watched the video, you heard some powerful lyrics like this one: "He's not done with what He started. He's not done until it's good." Also, in the video, one of the artists preaches the following message in the middle of the song; I mean, he is really preaching when he says:
The biggest fear is that the resurrection was not complete.
The biggest lie is that this life is all that there is.
And so we live in a fear of not knowing that God's work is complete in us.
And the problem with not having confidence in the resurrection,
Is that we don't know in the end if we will live again.
But I want you to know that the pain you face is temporary,
The cancer you face is temporary,
The disease you face is just temporary,
Because every believer that's washed in the blood of the Lamb,
Will live to live again.
How many of you know that this is not the end for the child of God?
This is only just the appetizer for the main meal.
For when we see Him, we shall be like Him.
When He cracks the sky, everything, every time, to see the Lamb of God,
And we will be just like Him.
Will somebody say Hallelujah?
Are you fearful today? All of us are going to have to walk this way, this path where fear will want to cripple and paralyze us. But there is good news: it doesn't have to. Jesus is greater than all our fears. He gives special grace for those especially difficult times, when we think we might go under, He rescues us with His supernatural hand. Reach out to God in prayer right now. He is for you, and He will answer.
I will close today's devotion from a similar line in Tauren Wells' song, " Joy in the Morning": "If it's not good, then He's not done with it yet." Sounds a lot like Romans 8:28, which is still in the Bible! God promises us: "And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."
