"Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart,
All you who hope in the Lord."
(Psalm 31:24)
I love the word "hope". With hope, you can do almost anything; without it, you are powerless. Hope is the confident assurance that all will work out because God is with you. I see in the eyes of so many a sense of despair and hopelessness. To see the people in Haiti and Afghanistan, for example, is to look into the eyes of grave fear with no hope. But God. He is the giver of hope, and the primary means of Him dispensing hope in huge quantities is by using you and me. That's right; you and me and the rest of God's people are the answer. God uses His people to be salt, light, and hope in a world in desperate need of Him.
Whenever I get a song in my heart, I just have to share it with others. Right now, I keep hearing the lyrics, "All of my hope is in the name of Jesus." The title of the song is " God, Turn It Around" by Jon Reddick. Here are some of the lyrics:
All of my hope
Is in the name
The name of Jesus
Breakthrough will come
Come in the name
The name of Jesus
I'm praying God come
And turn this thing around, oh yes
God, turn it around
God, turn it around
God, turn it around
