Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  I am blessed to be able to share with you some exciting things that God is doing in our midst.  Ashley and I are doing great and so very proud of all three of our children, Hannah, Bryant, and Leighton as they are on a mission trip this week in Madisonville, TX serving the Lord by helping others.  Hannah and Bryant are interns at the Exchange Church this summer working with student pastor Zach Schroeder.  Leighton completed his senior year of high school and will continue at the Austin Tennis Academy working on his tennis game for a year before committing to play in college.

God continues to bless our ministry here at Great Hills Baptist Church in Austin, TX. Our church is committed to sharing the gospel of Jesus both here in our city and around the world.  In April I went with a team to Romania and Hungary.  We have a team in the Ukraine and teams are getting ready to go soon to Boston, Budapest, and Cleveland.  God is transforming us into a radiant bride of Christ where we shine brightly for Him all over the world!

Ashley and I continue to marvel at God’s good hand of favor upon DFEA.  He continues to use our national broadcast on DIREC TV on the NRB channel 378.  And God continues to open doors for me to preach the Gospel in various places.  On June 14 I will join my children and preach an evangelistic message in Madisonville, TX.  And on Sunday June 24 I will be preaching twice at Biltmore Baptist Church in beautiful Ashville, NC where my friend Bruce Frank is the Lead Pastor and doing a wonderful work for Christ.  We will have our annual DFEA Board Meeting on June 18 in New Orleans during the SBC annual meeting.  On August 26-29 I am preaching a revival meeting for a former student of mine who serves at Calvary Baptist Church in Mexia, TX.  I am so honored to be able preach each week here at GHBC and also take some Sundays and preach in various places God opens for me to serve.  There will be 5,000-6,000 people in church at Biltmore and about 100 at Calvary.  I am as excited about preaching to 5,000 plus as I am to 50-100.  In fact I was privileged to preach for one person while I was on a mission trip in North Africa last summer!

I sincerely thank you for your support for our ministry through prayer and financial donations.  DFEA pays $500 a week to be on DIREC TV and we also support some wonderful ministries, and we are able to do this because you give.  I am so appreciative to every person and for every penny donated, and especially thank those who support us on a monthly basis as this helps tremendously.  Only God knows the impact He allows us to make, and one day in heaven it will be revealed and we will rejoice and praise our Savior, Jesus Christ that He gave us this grand privilege!

1 Corinthians 1:17

On April 20-27 I had the privilege to travel to Oradea, Romania with 3 men from Great Hills Baptist Church.  God blessed our mission tip and I had the honor of preaching at Immanuel Baptist Church and teaching at Immanuel University.  While visiting a local radio station for an interview, the leadership asked if I would be interested in broadcasting my sermons on their radio station.  They let me listen to an example of Ravi Zacharias how he would preach then a Romanian translator followed him.  I am honored that they have invited me to join them.  The cost is $600.00 a month and I am asking the Lord to help us raise the money so that they can broadcast my messages throughout this part of Romania.   If you would like to partner with us and help us please do so and we would be glad to have you join us.  There is a real hunger for the Word of God all over this world and I am so blessed to be able to preach His Word here in the USA and have those messages broadcast on DIREC TV and am excited about the possibility of partnering with Romanian believers in Oradea.

I have updated my speaking schedule and thankful to he LORD for the opportunities he gives me to preach each week here at GHBC in Austin and for the doors He continues to open through DFEA.  As Kristian Stanfill writes, “Our God’s not dead, He’s surely alive and He’s living on the inside roaring like a lion.”

Greetings from Romania.  I am in Oradea Romania about to preach at Immanuel Baptist Church and this week I will be preaching in chapel and teaching here at the college.  Pray for me please as I will teach evangelism and homiletics and very excited to be here and asking God to move in power.  I am with a team of 4 and we have 3 businessmen from Great Hills and they are ready to roll; it will be a great week I believe as the Lord uses us and blesses.

One of hte things I love doing in ministry is investing in preachers.  I have a great opportunity to do this as I teach here in Romania this week.  What a great opportunity to invest in those who will pastor and serve in the churches here in Romania for years to come.  

Thank you for all your prayers and support for DFEA.  WE continue to receive good reports from the TV broadcast on DIREC TV.  I heard recently about new listeners in the Asheville, NC and in Utah.

DFEA NEWSLETTER FEBRUARY 2012

Just when I think time cannot move any faster!  Wow, time does fly and I hope you are doing well and enjoying each day the Lord gives you.  Ashley and I are doing great and just got back from celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary.   (See facebook for cool photos!)  We had a wonderful time and are grateful to God for the opportunity to get away for a few days to rest and recharge.

I recently preached a sermon at Great Hills from 2 Samuel 11 on the life of King David.  He was a man after God’s heart and yet stumbled and fell.  Let us all learn from David that if it can happen to him, it can surely happen to any of us.  (1 Corinthians 10:12)  I pray even now that the Lord will make you strong in Him as you serve Him daily.

I would like to invite to join my wife, Ashley and me for an 11-day trip to Israel and Jordan!  This is going to be an amazing trip and I hope you can go with us.  Gary Frazier’s ministry, Discovery Worldwide Ministries, is organizing the trip and I will be the tour host.  I got to lead a group through Discovery in 2008 to Israel and it was one of the highlights of my life!  Absolutely amazing to be able to walk where Jesus walked and see the same things He saw when He walked this earth!  For more information, contact Kathy Jones at 512-343-7763 ext. 211 or kjones@ghbc.org for a brochure. 

God continues to open doors for me to invest in people’s lives through the preaching of His Word and I am so honored.  Our TV broadcast on DIRECTV continues to impact lives, and I thank all of you for the prayers and financial support that makes this possible.  I got a facebook post this week from Carla in Missouri which she gave me permission to include.  She said:

“Brother Forshee, aside from being a sister in Christ, you don't know me from Adam! However, let me tell you how much my husband and I enjoy watching you preach weekly from our living room in Southwest Missouri! We always have to comment on the passion you have for the Lord and for His work! May God continue to bless you as you pastor and live out His beautiful message of grace and life!”

Please pray for me, as I am preaching at the Florida Baptist Convention Evangelism Conference on March 27 at the FBC Plant City, Florida.  If you are in the Tampa area, please come out to the conference, as I would love to see you.  Florida Baptist Evangelism Director David Burton has worked tirelessly in putting this conference together.  I am praying that God blesses this event in powerful ways and that March 25-27 greatly impacts many for the cause of Christ.

Also, please pray for me as I preach for a week in Romania April 20-27.  It is an honor to proclaim Christ in different parts of the world.  I am reminded of how big our planet is and how awesome God is, and how it is His will that none perish but all come to repentance.  (2 Peter 3:9)
